Pioneering CoreHaus Modular Innovation in County Durham
Cathedral Gates was developed with one of our delivery partners, Homes by Carlton, in Chilton, County Durham. The scheme utilised the design concept and component parts onsite to create the first CoreHaus development.
As it was our first development we designed a scheme showing numerous design abilities for the brand including external finishing and internal layout.
The development comprises of 14 properties in total. 7 CoreHaus prototype plots with the remainder being constructed using traditional methods to provide a realistic comparison of build.

Modular homes used on this project
Homes by Carlton partnered with CoreHaus to deliver four affordable homes as part of our Section 106 obligations on our 31 unit scheme at Thorpe Paddocks. CoreHaus provided a hybrid part modular solution. This allowed the Homes by Carlton team to focus on the large bespoke market sale homes with the CoreHaus team delivering the Section 106 Affordable Homes. The Affordable Homes were delivered on time, on budget and at a competitive fixed price.
